Our privacy officer
Jennifer Taylor is responsible for how we handle personal information. You can reach her at info@taylormadeideas.ca or 250-460-7263 with any questions, requests or concerns.
What we collect
We only collect what we need to respond to you and do good work together. That may include:
- Contact details you give us, such as your name, business name, email address and phone number.
- Assessment and form answers, such as details about your business, your marketing and your goals when you complete our Made-to-Measure Assessment or a contact form.
- Booking details when you schedule a call with us through Calendly.
- Client project information you share while we work together, such as marketing plans, account access and performance data.
- Website usage data, such as the pages you visit, how you arrived, your general location, and your device and browser type. This is collected through cookies and Google Analytics.
Why we collect it
We use your personal information to:
- respond to your questions and requests;
- review your assessment and follow up with recommendations;
- schedule and hold consultations;
- provide, manage and invoice our services;
- understand how our website is used so we can improve it; and
- meet our legal and accounting obligations.
We will not use your information for a new purpose without telling you and, where required, asking for your consent first. We do not sell or rent your personal information.
Consent
By submitting a form, booking a call or sending us your information, you consent to us using it for the purposes described here. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us, subject to legal or contractual limits. If you withdraw consent, we will explain how that may affect our ability to work with you.
Cookies and analytics
Our website uses cookies, including Google Analytics cookies, to understand how visitors use the site. This information is reported to us in aggregate and is not used to identify you personally. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with trusted service providers who help us run our business, and only as much as they need. These include our website host (SiteGround), our form and email tools, our scheduling tool (Calendly) and Google (analytics). These providers must protect your information and may only use it to provide services to us.
Some of these providers store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States and Europe. When information is stored outside Canada, it is subject to the laws of that country and may be accessible to its courts, law enforcement and national security authorities.
We may also disclose personal information when required or permitted by law.
How we protect it
We use reasonable security measures to protect your information, including secure (HTTPS) connections, password-protected accounts, limited access and reputable service providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to keep your information safe.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires. If we use your information to make a decision that directly affects you, we keep it for at least one year so you have a chance to access it. When we no longer need it, we securely delete or destroy it.
Your rights
Under PIPA, you have the right to ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, how it has been used and who it has been disclosed to. You can also ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
To make a request, email info@taylormadeideas.ca. We will respond within 30 business days, as PIPA requires, and let you know if we need more time or cannot provide certain information.
Concerns and complaints
If you have a concern about how we handle your information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
