Fractional CMO for Kelowna, Penticton, Vernon and the Okanagan

A fractional CMO who lives here.

Get senior marketing leadership from someone who knows the valley, its seasons and its customers. I work with established Okanagan businesses as a fractional CMO, or part-time marketing director, for a fraction of the cost of a full-time hire.

Communities I serve in person
  • Kelowna
  • West Kelowna
  • Lake Country
  • Vernon
  • Peachland
  • Summerland
  • Penticton
  • Naramata
  • Oliver
  • Osoyoos

In person across the valley, and by video for the rest of BC, Alberta and Canada.

The short answer

What does a fractional CMO do for an Okanagan business?

A fractional CMO leads your marketing part time, usually for a set number of hours each month. For an Okanagan business, that means one senior person who builds the plan, directs your team or agency, and plans around the valley’s busy and quiet seasons, without the cost of a full-time executive salary.

Does this sound like you?
✓

You’re growing, but marketing is still something the owner squeezes in after hours.

✓

You have a coordinator or an agency, but nobody senior is steering them.

✓

Your summer rush carries the year, and the shoulder seasons hurt.

✓

You’re spending on ads, but you can’t tell what’s actually working.

✓

You’re ready to sell beyond the valley, to Vancouver, Calgary or the U.S.

Why local matters

Marketing built for how the valley works.

Seasons

Plan for the whole year

Wineries, tourism, trades, real estate and retail all peak at different times here. I build your budget and calendar around your real season, so you are not scrambling in May or going quiet in November.

Reputation

Everyone knows everyone

In the Okanagan, word of mouth, sponsorships and community ties carry real weight. I’m a past Vice-President of the Penticton & Wine Country Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Summerland Rotary Club, and I know how to put your name in the right places.

Media

Local media, done right

My career started in radio, television and publishing, so I know how local media works. I combine it with Connected TV, search, social and PR to reach both locals and the visitors who arrive every summer.

Who I work with

Established Okanagan businesses ready to grow.

My clients are usually owner-led businesses that have outgrown doing their own marketing, but aren’t ready to hire a full-time marketing director. They include:

  • Wineries, cideries and beverage brands
  • Automotive dealerships
  • Real estate teams and developers
  • Health, wellness and skin care clinics
  • Home services, trades and industrial companies
  • Professional services firms
  • Tourism and hospitality businesses

Questions I hear most

Okanagan questions, answered.

How much does a fractional CMO cost in Kelowna or Penticton?

I work hourly or on a monthly retainer, and the rate depends on the scope of work. We agree up front on the hours that make sense for your business, so there are no surprises and no full-time salary, benefits or recruiting costs.

Is a fractional CMO the same as a part-time marketing director?

Yes, for most Okanagan businesses the two titles describe the same role. You get a senior marketing leader who works with you part time, owns the plan and the budget, leads the people doing the work, and answers for the results.

Do you meet in person?

Yes. I’m based in the Okanagan, so I meet clients in person from Vernon and Kelowna down to Penticton, Oliver and Osoyoos. Between meetings, we keep things moving by phone, email and video.

Can you work with my existing staff or agency?

Absolutely. Many businesses already have a marketing coordinator, a web developer or an agency. I give them a clear plan and direction, hold every channel accountable, and step in to do the work myself when that makes more sense.

Do you only work with Okanagan businesses?

No. The Okanagan is home, but I also work with businesses across British Columbia and Alberta, including Vancouver, Kamloops, Calgary, Edmonton and Red Deer, and with established businesses across Canada. See my fractional CMO services.
